INNOVATION LAB
Before the product, there's the hypothesis.
The Lab is where we explore problems we don't yet know how to solve. Some explorations become products. Most stop — and that's the point.
01 — WHY
Being wrong early costs less than being wrong thoroughly.
Most organisations launch projects on untested convictions, then defend them once they've invested. The Lab exists to reverse that order.
Here we state hypotheses explicitly, look for what would disprove them, and decide fast. A project stopped after six weeks isn't a failure: it's six months saved.
What we learn stays, even when the project goes.
02 — WHAT WE WATCH
We don't track trends. We track friction — the places where people's real work is harder than it should be.
Areas of observation
01
Automating regulatory obligations
Compliance is still manual across entire sectors. TaxFlow came out of this ground.
02
Organisational document infrastructure
Company knowledge lives in formats that don't protect it. Fondigne's origin.
03
Business tools for mid-sized organisations
Too big for spreadsheets, too small for enterprise software. A persistent blind spot.
04
Decision-support systems
How to structure information so a decision gets made, not just documented.
04 — HOW WE TEST
01
State it
A hypothesis that can be wrong. If it can't be disproved, it isn't a hypothesis.
02
Look for the opposite
We actively seek what contradicts it. Confirming interviews don't count.
03
Build the minimum
The smallest artefact that produces a real signal. Often not code.
04
Decide
Continue, reframe or stop. A dated, written decision, on a deadline set in advance.
A hypothesis worth exploring together?
The Lab works with experts, researchers and organisations close to the problems.
